Solid wood is a natural, living material. Unlike veneer or laminate furniture coated in thick plastic polyurethane, our furniture is finished with natural hardwax oils that sink into the wood pores. This allows you to feel the actual texture of the timber. Because it is a natural surface, it requires basic care to stay hydrated and protected.
Here are our essential tips for maintaining solid wood:
- Dust Regularly: Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth to wipe away dust. Avoid using commercial aerosol sprays or chemical polishers, as they leave a sticky residue that ruins the natural matte finish.
- Wipe Spills Immediately: While our oil finishes resist water rings, liquid left standing for hours can eventually penetrate the wood. Use a damp cloth to clean spills, followed immediately by a dry towel.
- Avoid Extreme Heat and Dryness: Do not place solid wood furniture directly in front of heating vents or radiators. Extreme temperature fluctuations can cause the wood to shrink or crack.
