Sustainable Forestry: Sourcing Native Hardwoods Responsibly

As makers of permanent wood furniture, our relationship with trees is deeply personal. We understand that every piece of teakwood or sheesham we shape was once a living organism that played a vital role in its ecosystem. Because of this, sustainable sourcing is not a marketing catchphrase for us—it is an ethical necessity.

We source our hardwoods exclusively from certified, responsibly managed responsibly managed Indian plantations and forests. These forests operate under strict rules:

  • Selective Logging: Instead of clear-cutting large sections of land, individual trees are selected and harvested, leaving the surrounding canopy and forest floor intact.
  • Natural Regeneration: Harvesting is calculated to match the natural growth rate of the forest, ensuring that the timber volume harvested is replaced by new growth.
  • Local Ecosystem Protection: Soil health, water quality, and wildlife habitats are protected during the logging process.
By sourcing sustainable native hardwoods, we support forestry practices that ensure these woodlands will continue to thrive for centuries. We build furniture to last generations, and we source from forests managed to endure just as long.
